The 4 Signal Types

📈 Buy Signal

Strong setup for initiating a new position. Indicators show upward momentum, price is approaching valuation support, and technical setup is positive.

📉 Sell Signal

Technical weakness detected. Price above resistance, overbought conditions, negative momentum, or fundamental deterioration suggests exiting positions.

➕ Add Position

Strong performers showing continued momentum. Confidence is high, market sentiment is positive, and technical setup suggests further upside.

➖ Reduce Position

Warning signs detected but position still valid. Extended valuations, weakening momentum, or portfolio rebalancing reasons to trim exposure.

Stocks vs ETFs

Stocks: Use technical analysis with optimization. We backtest different SMA (simple moving average) periods and momentum factors to find best-performing combinations for each stock. Each stock gets its own optimized parameters.

ETFs: Follow sector momentum and broader market trends. Allocate more capital to ETFs that show strength. Position sizing is 10× more aggressive for ETFs than individual stocks.

The 5-Step Algorithm

1. Collect Data – Gather historical price data, volume, and fundamental metrics for all holdings
2. Backtest Strategies – Test different technical analysis approaches (SMA periods 25,50,100,200 and momentum factors) against historical data
3. Identify Optimal Parameters – Find which combination of SMA period and momentum factor worked best in the past
4. Generate Signals – Apply optimized parameters to current market data to generate buy/sell recommendations
5. Present Recommendations – Display all signals in the app with confidence ratings for each position

Portfolio Limits & Position Sizing

Stock Count Limits

Add up to 100 stocks that you feel strong about and holding forever, buying more when they decline over long term. App limits recommendations to the N top picks from your list based on risk appetite and score values. Too many stocks in portfolio has negative impact overall as cash management is important to average down the price when market or your current holdings decline sharply.

Position Sizing Multipliers (Applied to recommended investment)

• ETFs: 10× base limit (aggressive allocation to index funds)
• High-confidence stocks (score ≥50): 1× base limit
• Lower-confidence stocks (score <50): 0.5× base limit

Transaction Limits

• Stocks: Maximum 25% of individual stock limit per transaction
• ETFs: Maximum 10% of individual ETF limit per transaction
